As Managing Principal of Urban-Blox, Mr. Maghen is actively involved in all aspects of business development, investments and project management. He is a talented and results-oriented development professional with over eight years of experience in entitlements, construction, finance, development and property management.
Mr. Maghen is a licensed Real Estate Broker in the state of California whom began his career with Marcus & Millichap focusing on the disposition of retail and multi-family assets. Mr. Maghen has over 12 years of experience in real estate and finance including public and private origination, underwriting and placement of debt and equity, due diligence, disposition of large bank portfolios, and structuring of complex debt and equity transactions. Following his time at Marcus & Millichap, Mr. Maghen worked at the Hovde Group, a nationally recognized investment bank focused on strategic planning, mergers and acquisitions, and public offerings of equity and debt for financial institutions across the United States. He has worked with clients on both the buy-side and sell-side of mergers and acquisitions, branch and subsidiary divestitures, disposition of large NPL portfolios, along with providing real estate portfolio valuation and other strategic evaluations. Mr. Maghen has successfully raised over $250 million in equity nationally for financial institutions and real estate investment firms.
Prior to joining Urban-Blox, Mr. Maghen served as VP of Structured Finance and Development Management at Greenbridge Investment Partners, a full-service commercial real estate firm. In this capacity, he was intimately involved with lender loan document negotiations, draw packages, construction management, financing, and redevelopment of 1,000,000 square feet of creative office and mixed-use assets throughout the West Coast.
A native of Los Angeles, California, Mr. Maghen earned his Bachelor of Arts degree with honors from the University of California, Los Angeles, majoring in Business Economics and Accounting.
